maze 3rd Annual Floyd County Teen Maze

Students from Rome, Darlington, Unity Christian and all Floyd County high schools went through the “maze” at the Coosa Fairgrounds in October, experiencing what it would be like to make certain life choices that could lead to jail-time, drug abuse, an STD, an unexpected pregnancy or even death.  Please see attached blog and photos from Darlington about the event.

May 2 – Annual Spelling Bee

The Spell Off was a HUGE success due to the 24 amazing teams and the Champion Sponsor Harbin Clinic. We raised approximately $10,000 which is more than we raised in the past two years with this event. Moving the Spell Off to the DeSoto Theatre was a terrific addition and we can’t wait to pack the theatre at next years event!

Over 100 guests came to the Well at West Rome Baptist Church on Thursday evening for a wonderful event that included a taco dinner, door prizes and lots of fun activities for the whole family.  This event was to introduce a program “Strengthening Families” which will be launching this fall geared toward the hispanic families in our community.  This initiative was created out of the concern for an increase in juvenile court cases within the hispanic community.

As the recipient of the proceeds from this bike ride, we are so grateful to each and every rider that came out to support us! Our community has been so generous to Harbor House year in and year out and are the reason that we can serve Floyd County children each day.
